Crow River Drumline Association:

The Crow River Drumline Association (CRDA) was incorporated with the State of Minnesota as a non-profit (501)c3 organization on March 17, 1993.  The CRDA is a member of the Minnesota Percussion Association (MPA) and the Hutchinson Area Chamber of Commerce and Tourism.

Members of the CRDA are the parents of the students involved in the Phoenix Drumline.  Daily operation of the CRDA is provided through the parent members.

The CRDA oversees the administration and financial operation of the Phoenix Drumline through monthly Board meetings, parent meetings, administration of fund raising opportunities, and coordination of performance events and the Distant Drums home show. All monies raised by the CRDA go into the operational needs of the Phoenix Drumline.  This includes, but is not limited to, hiring instructors for both the summer and winter seasons, obtaining facilities for practices and the Distant Drums show, purchasing and repair of equipment, payment of organizational dues and fees, and other costs associated with the development of the drumline.

Phoenix Drumline:

The Phoenix Drumline began its first competitive season in January 1994 and hosted its first home show, Distant Drums, one month later in February 1994.

Membership in the Phoenix Drumline is open to students from 7th grade to 20 years old. The Drumline consists of two seasons:  a summer performance unit and a winter competitive unit.

The summer performance unit participates in parades throughout the summer months, as well as community events such as the Hutchinson Water Carnival celebration, Relay for Life, McLeod County Arts Inspire Day, and the Glow Run.

The winter competitive unit performs in several shows during the winter months, as well MPA and WGI Championships.
